About The Answer

Off-Grid Retreat in the Madawaska Valley, Ontario

Nature. Inclusion. Getaway.

...and the meaning of life.

Creating a Lifestyle with Nature

The Off-Grid Answer began with a piece of land and a simple idea: nature should belong to everyone.

Tucked into the Madawaska Valley, surrounded by forest, lake, and the rise of Blueberry Hill, this place slowly became something more than just property. Trails were cleared, gardens planted, campfires built, and spaces created for people to gather and reconnect with the outdoors.

The Answer grew from a desire to share the land in a way that feels welcoming, inclusive, and grounded in sustainability. It’s a place where people can feel safe to explore nature.

It isn’t about luxury or escaping nature — it’s about being part of it.

At its heart, The Answer is a place for connection:
connection to the land, to each other, and to the simple rhythms of outdoor life.

Why The Off-Grid Answer Exists

To make nature accessible to everyone.

Not just hardcore hikers.
Not just people with fancy gear.
And definitely not just people who already feel like they belong outside.

So we built a place where people can hike, swim, grow food, sit by the fire, and reconnect with the land.

No luxury resort nonsense.
Just forest, lake, and good company.

The Answer Pledge

Respect the land.
Respect the water.
Respect each other.
Leave the land better than you found it.
Everyone belongs here.
